What Does the Vineyard Church Believe?

The Vineyard church is a non-denominational, charismatic Christian movement that believes that God is the Eternal King. The Vineyard church bases its theology on Jesus’ teaching on the kingdom of God, which is the overarching and integrating theme of the Scriptures. We embrace an inaugurated eschatology, which means that God’s beautiful future is breaking into our present experience.

Our church believes that God’s love and healing power are manifested in worship, prayer, and ministry. We practice power evangelism, which involves demonstrations of the miraculous, such as healing the sick, casting out demons, and prophesying. The Vineyard also believes that Jesus is reconciling humans to God, to each other, and to the entire creation, breaking down divisions and restoring relationships.

The Vineyard holds to salvation by grace through faith and is very concerned with spreading the gospel of the kingdom2. We seek to teach and obey the whole counsel of God’s Word. Our mission is to empower and equip believers by the Holy Spirit to serve God’s kingdom with their gifts and talents. The Vineyard church cultivates and demonstrates unity, diversity, and fellowship among its members and with other churches, and we serve and reach out to the local and global community with compassion and justice.

The Vineyard church has over 2,500 churches in six continents and is committed to the multiplication of Kingdom-minded, Christ-centered communities of local churches and Vineyard movements in all the nations of the world.
